BillyJean - MBISS Cdn Am. Ch. Stonecroft's Screen Star

Winner of 7 Specialty Best of Breeds

We had already decided that Screen Star would be the name of our next bitch puppy. We were stumped on a call name. We were watching the Michael Jackson 30th Anniversary Special when the song "BillyJean" came on. We said that's it!!!!!! We didn't find out until some time later while listening to the song again that the first line in the song is "She was more like a Beauty Queen from a Movie Scene". BillyJean has certainly more than lived up to her name!

Her first venture into the ring at the tender age of 6 months and 4 days of age, she was awarded Best of Breed by English judge Brian Drake (Warrenhouse) at the PWCA(c) Ontario/Quebec Section Specialty in May 2002. Mr. Drake wrote “Very apt name for an outstanding baby”. Earlier in the day, she was awarded Best Opposite in Sweepstakes under Melody Kist (Harmony).

BillyJean’s next adventure took her to the Western Reserve Specialty in Ohio in August. While still in the 6-9 month puppy class, she was Best of Opposite in Sweepstakes under Ellen Childs (X111 Maples). Later in the regular class at the Specialty, she was awarded Winners Bitch, Best of Winners and Best Puppy for a 5 point major by Andrew Carter (Saddlelane).

Onto Chicago in October, we attended the Lakeshore Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club Specialty. BillyJean was awarded Best in Sweepstakes under Barb duPree (Curig).

In April of 2003, while at the Welsh Corgi Club of the Potomac Specialty in Virginia, BillyJean won Winners Bitch for a 5 point major under Anne Bowes (Heronsway) and then the thrill of thrills, Best of Breed under English judge Mary Winsone (Cordach) over an entry of 232 corgis.

Back at home in Canada in May, BillyJean made us so proud by winning Best of Breed for the 2nd year in a row at the PWCA(c) Ont/Que Sec. Specialty under English judge Idris Jones (Belroyd).

March 2004, we ventured to the Ohio Valley Specialty in Kentucky and from the classes again BillyJean walked away with Best of Breed under Dianne Connolly (Llandian). Dianne writes "She took my breath beautiful and correct".

October 2004, at the Lakeshore PWC Specialty in Illinois and her first time out as a Special, Joan Hutton (Bojojamile) awarded BillyJean specialty Best of Breed #5.

June 2005, Tim Mathiesen (Nebriowa) gave the final nod for Best of Breed to BillyJean at the Mayflower Specialty in Massachussetts. Tim commented in his critique "One of the best Pembroke Welsh Corgi bitches I have ever seen and I have seen a lot of them. It was a pleasure and an honour to judge her".

Back to Illinois for the Lakeshore Specialty 2005, BillyJean was awarded Best of Breed for the 2nd year in a row, this time under Allan Taylor (Belroyd).
